About Me

When I was five years old, I received a subscription to National Geographic magazine for Christmas from my great-grandmother. It didn't take long before I was completely enamored of the amazing pictures inside each issue. I was especially captivated by the photos of the wildlife in Africa, and the vast deserts in Australia. I remember telling my mom, "Mom, someday I'm going to marry a writer, so we can go to Africa. He can write the words, and I'll take the pictures!"

Thus, my love affair with photography was born.

30 years later - after myriads of college photography courses, seven years in the Navy as a military photographer, and visits to over a dozen countries (Australia included! Yay! Sadly, no Africa for me. Yet.) - here I am today. Back in my cozy little hometown. Married to the love of my life. And mother to the sweetest girls to grace this planet. And photography is still a huge part of my life.

One of my favorite things to do is just go for a drive and find somewhere that I've never been, or maybe forgot about, and take photos. It's even better when I come back to that same spot with a client for a portrait session.

I strive to make each session as unique as the people whose image I capture. I'm excited and passionate about what I do. I see each new day as an opportunity to study the world around me, and capture something special through the miracle of photography.
